Industrial Fire Brigade Incident Commander - IFBIC
- Fire Brigade Incident Commanders or fire team leaders aspiring to the role of incident commander employed in a facility Fire Brigade.
- Operational process personnel who have the responsibility to coordinate an emergency response on an industrial facility.
- The delegate needs to be educated and trained as a team leader for an Industrial Facility Fire Brigade and needs an IFTL certificate or similar.
- If delegates have no experience with the operations of an Industrial Fire Brigade, the basic knowledge of firefighting techniques is required. Delegates that are not compliant with the prerequisites need to do a pre-assessment prior to the IFBIC course.
The training is a mixture of theoretical and practical training. The focus is given towards decision making and command of teams to resolve an operational emergency situation. Each participant is expected to take command of at least 1 complex live fire exercise in either a process unit, tank farm or loading facility simulations. Each participant will be assessed individually on the command skills demonstrated during the exercises. The training is given by highly experienced instructors/incident commanders. This training has been accredited by JOIFF and is according to NFPA standards 1021, 1081.
