Target group
This course is developed to respond to emergency situations in hydrocarbon and chemical processing and handling installations. The IFTL will be able to perform the essential functions for commanding single teams in order to resolve operational incidents on facilities where hazardous materials are present. This includes extinguishing, controlling and mitigating the effects of incident in the hot, warm and cold zones, under supervision of an Incident Commander.

Pre-requisites
Participation in this training is open to delegates employed in the industrial business with at least the level of Fire Team Member.

Training program
The IFTL is a basic initial 10 day training and consists of two modules:

  • The first module is based on incident command and control for a team leader
  • The second module focuses more on the technical aspects required to deal with scenario’s specific to high risk industries. In order to qualify for the second module the participant must either have completed the first module or have recently undertaken a recognized fire brigade team leader training. If there is any doubt regarding the candidate to complete the second module, a pre-course qualification test may be required to en sure the candidate has the necessary skills to fully participate in the training. At day 10 the delegate will do a theoretical and practical assessment

RelyOn Nutec Fire Academy will maintain, develop and update these standards. This training has been accredited by JOIFF and is according to NFPA standards 1081 & 472.
